Our Team at Tooth Works consists of Dr. Sam Withanachchi and Dr. Michael Shewchuck; dentists who are well qualified and trusted, with a personal touch in all their services. Combining their knowledge and expertise, Tooth Works is your one stop shop for all Dentistry procedures.

MichaelShewchukDDS Michael E. Shewchuk, DDS

Dr. Shewchuk practices quality general dentistry with a personal touch for Edmonton-area patients. He is an active member of the community and has served on the board of directors at NAIT, Edmonton District Dental Society, and the Highlands Golf Club. He has been a chairman for the United Way for the Edmonton District Dental Society, and has been involved in fundraising and donating to many charitable organizations such as the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Heart & Stroke Foundation, NAIT Foundation, Safe House, and many others.

Because Dr. Shewchuk is passionate about dentistry and staying up-to-date with advances in modern science, he maintains membership with several dental associations including:

Dr. Shewchuk has been married to his wonderful wife for 30 years, and they have four beautiful children—three boys and one girl. Aside from practicing dentistry in Edmonton, Dr. Shewchuk enjoys outdoor activities, golf, curling, great hockey, and watching football and baseball.

Sam Withanachchi, DMD

Dr. Withanachchi earned his B. Sc in biological sciences from the University of Alberta, and then went on to earn a second B. Sc in dentistry from the University of Manitoba. For postgraduate training, Dr. Withanachchi studied at the University of Manitoba where he served on the senate and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Prior to joining the team at Tooth Works, Dr. Withanachchi practiced in Leduc, AB for two years and volunteered his services in Northern Manitoba and the Bronx, NY.

For the past 2 years, Dr. Withanachchi has been providing high-quality general dental care for residents of Edmonton and surrounding areas. He also practices on the Alberta Dental Association sponsored Mobile dental unit. This is an initiative to serve residence in senior communities, who have limited mobility and are unable to travel to a traditional clinic. He remains active within the Edmonton dental community and regularly volunteers his time with the Shine Dental Clinic and the Sri Lanka Canada Friendship Association.
